School 180, Tbilisi, Georgia Hello everyone! We are the students of the 10-th grade and we want to introduce ourselves and share the information of our school to each other.
Our school was opened in 1986 on September 1. That year only six girls and one boy left school. At that time our school was prolonged. Students did their homework there, and then had dinner with a great variety of food, not only sent by government, but also growing by themselves in the orchard near the school.
Our school is located in the suburb named "VARKETILI". But in spite of this it distinguishes from other schools with a big amount of students. A few years ago, our school was on the second place according of it.
Today 120 teachers and one head teacher serve 1500 students. The teachers are kind, just and a bit strict. only the students of elementary school wear uniforms.
Our school contains of two buildings and they are counted for about 2000 students. Boys and girls study together.
The popularity of our school is caused by its teaching equipments: a lot of cabinets, well-equipped library, gym and open stadiums outside.
we study 17 main and some additional subjects, which help us to achieve our success.
our school is successful in Inclusive teaching. We’ve print-media "Leaders of the Future", and students` self-management organization.
Every Monday we hoist our national flag and sing national hymn.

Our school name is Madre de la Misericordia and it has than name because of the church that give birth. Now, there are about 700 students between boys and girls. The teachers are strict. We have a uniform. It like black shoes, clasic jean, and a white t-shirt. School lessons start at 7 45 am and finish at 12 15 or 1 00 pm. We have lunch at home. We have gymnastic and there, we play some sports. The school have a logo, it is a virgin, and around this, the name of the school. Our favourite things about school are study english and maths.
Our school was founded 65 years ago. The first promotion had 16 students. The school objetives are educated. Our school always help poor people. There are about 70 teachers in the school.

The morning shift starts at 7:20 and finishes at 12:30

The afternuun shift starts at 13:10 and finishes at 17:20

The evening shifft starts at 18:20 and finishes at 22:20

Yes, all lessons are compulsory: English, History, Chemistry, Biology, Language, Physical Education, Mathematics, Philosophy, etc.

What do you have for lunch at school?

We never have lunch at school. Some students have a sandwich or a hamburger.

We play football, volleyball and handball.

Our school name is Fatimiyah Girls School. We study in grade V-C. Our school is very big. Our school has many branches. Our uniform is white in colour. We wear head scarf in school. In winter we wear maroon sweater.
During morning assembly we do exercise and we also do presentations. We do different activities in class. We also do creative work. Our teachers teach us very well. Our friends are very helpful.

Our school’s name is Fatimiyah Girls School. Our school is very big and nice. There are six branches of our school. Our school teachers are very nice and they teach very well. Our school rules are good. Our school uniform is white in colour. Our school’s furniture is very nice.

Our school name is Fatimiyah Girls School. Our school is very big. There are many classes in our school. Our teachers make group of students and teach.
There are many beautiful plants and flowers in our school. Our teachers are very friendly and students are also friendly. We love our school very much.

Group C: Farwa, Urooj, Masooma, Ada-e-Zehra, Sualaha, and Sabeen Hello friends! We don’t know about you and your school but we want to tell you something about our school. We like our school very much. We like our school uniform and school shoes. We also like clean and tidy classes. Our t teachers teach us social skills like speak softly and take your turn.
There is no canteen in our school but we want the canteen. Do you have a canteen in your school?
We love our school and hope your school is also very good.

We have big classrooms and we also have different activities. We practice social skills. Every morning we have assembly presentations. We have school on Saturday.
We have new uniform and new shoes in this year 2007. We have new classmates and we have more sections in our school now.
We don’t have swimming pool and school canteen.
We went on two field trips. We have many branches like boys, girls and early childhood and college campus.

Our school is a public school, were founded in 1946, (61) years ago for the first time. It was on the Hawler Castile by the name Erbil secondary school for girls. The studies at that time were in Arabic language. In 1949-1950 the school was transported into old house down the Castile. In 1953 it was transported again to another place then in 1969 the authorities built a new building for the school. It is the same building which is in it now.

Nearly 16 headmasters ran this school till now and thousands of students graduated in this school. This is due the ability of its teachers. With the support of the Kurdistan Region Government the school enrolled about 45-50 students in colleges of medicine, pharmacy, and engineering, which is considered one of the top-10s.
From 2000-2006 1300-1500pupils and students Graduated in this school.
All the subjects where studded are in Kurdish language also there are Arabic and English language , the younger students that where be in the first grad in this schools must be on age 12-13 and the older must be 18-19 this school is just for girls.
There are 55 teachers are teach in this school.
The school covers (8000)2meters. It consists of 14 classes and 5 laboratories (Sound, Computer, biology, physics and chemistry) also we have a big hall for calibrations and meetings.

The Day of Knowledge

The Day of knowledge is the first day when the students come to school after long summer vacations and new schooling year begins. It also called the First Bell. It symbolizes the beginning of school. In Ukraine we celebrate this holiday on the first of September. The students of school gather in the school yard and have a grand meeting. The principal usually takes the floor. After the grand meeting there is a concert. We congratulate each other and our teachers with the beginning of the school year. We have this holiday every year on the first of September.After this we start school till the Last Bell. Last Bell ceremony is a grand meeting which symbolizes the end of school and beginning of summer vacations. It is celebrated on the 31st of May.

Classes in our school
Our students usually have 6 lessons a day each lasting 45 minutes with 10-15 minutes breaks between them. There are one-week holidays in November and March, two-week holidays in December-January, and three month holiday in summer from June, till August 31.

I am Mary Kvitsinadze. I am 11 years old. I learn at school “Tsiskari”. I love my school. There are wonderful teachers. They are very clever and friendly. They love children and we are happy because they are teaching us. We study here: Italy, English and Russian languages. We have pen-friends in Great Britain. Sometimes in our school come famous people. Every winter we go to the camp in Bakuriani and we go skiing, make friends and have fun there.
In our school we have opportunities to reveal our talents in after school activities. We draw, sing, dance do sports and so on. School “Tsiskari” helps us to grow as clever, famous people and find our place in Georgian societies.

Hi. I'm Maruiam Shaishmelashvili, 11. I'm the student of the 6th form of the Vakhtang Esvanjia School "Tsiskari", Tbilisi, Georgia.
My school is only 10 years old, but it has a very special history. It is the story of great kindness, human support, friendship, war, children's tears and survived hopes.
The story started in the period of the World War II. Georgia was one of the Republics of the Soviet Union then and Abkhazia is the most beautiful part of Georgia. In Italy, Sicilia, Georgian partisans were fighting together with Italians. Some of them survived and returned to their families. A few of them were from Abkhazia. They kept best relationships with their Italian friends and supported to establishing cultural links between Abkhazia and Sicilia. In the 11th public school of Sukhumi (the central city of Abkhazia) there was founded the museum dedicated to the heroic history of Georgian partisans and friendship between Abkhazia and Sicilia. Vakhtang Esvanjia for that time was member of the local government and great supporter of these relationships.
In 1971, eruption on Etna caused earth quick and many cities and villages were in ruins. Georgian friends invited kids from Sicilia to spend a few months in Abkhazia, far away from the stressful problems, till their parents restore houses and clean out ruins. Invitation was received with gratitude and Sicilian children spent a few happy months in Abkhazia, surrounded with care and love. This visit strengthened friendship between the two people.
In 1991 the civic war started in Abkhazia. I don't know exactly the reasons that caused the war. I can't understand why people kill each other. I just know that in autumn of 1992 all Georgian population had to leave urgently Abkhazia but the enemy cut off their path of retreat. So, women, children and old people had to escape through the mountains of the Caucasus Range. They walked in terrible cold and snow, with no food and water. Terrible moments of those days followed children in their nightmares for a long time. Their lives completely changed. Now they were refugees, with no flat, food and hope for better future. The country had lots of political and economical problems and was not able to support its IDPs (Internally Displaced Person).
Now it was Sicilian's tern to help friends. Leo-Luka Orlando, the Mayor of Palermo got in touch to Vakhtang Esvanjia. They together, with great support of Italian Embassy started the long-term project, which saved the whole generation of the refugee children from despair and hopelessness. The initiative of Sicilia was spread in all over the Italy. Many families desired to host Georgian kids. They surrounded children with kindness, love. They became the second families for refugee children, who used to spend their summer holidays with them. Even now, when the project is completed and those kids are already the grown ups, they have best relationships.
I've seen the video material on this project. I saw, how Italian families met the children who didn't smile and had sorrow in their eyes. And, later they saw off the happy, laughing children.
The school "Tsiskari", or Italian school, as it is known in Tbilisi was founded by Vakhtang Esvanjia for participants of the project to help them to improve their Italian Language and contact each other.
Most of children-participants of the project have already graduated from the school and now are doing their bachelor or masters degrees at the universities. I know some of them:
Eka Kvirtia, graduated from "Tsiskari" in 2000. Now she works in one of the projects of Washington AMCOR as a Financial Manager and doing her Masters degree in GIPA.
Diana Kvaratskhelia, graduated from "Tsiskari" in 2005 is the successful student of the Tbilisi University, faculty of law.
Zura Kacharava, graduated in 2000. Lawyer, now is doing his masters degree.
Sofia Tutisani, graduated in 1999. Model, works in Italy.
Gocha Museridze, a successful architecture, had his practice in Italy by great support of his Italian family.
The school "Tsiskari" still keeps best relationships with Italy. It is the cultural bridge between the two countries. Students are actively involved in the learning-exchange programs.
I am proud to be a small part of this story. I hope to be able to contribute to already traditional chain of human kindness and support.

Hello! We want to participate in this interesting project, which gives us the chance to make friends in the other countries. This letter is written from Georgia (Tbilisi) by the pupils of an Italian school “Tsiskari”. We’d like to have a good relationship with you.
Now about us:
The history has begun so: in 1992 in Georgia there was a huge group of Georgian people, who were persecuted from Abxazia after the war. They were stressed. Vakhtang Esvanjia has helped these poor people and sent young refuges in the Italy. According this project was born a great idea to establish an Italian school with exchange-programmes, to study the language well.
Now our school produces exchange-programes in Italy. According this project pupils and teachers were sent to Sicily where they attended practical studies in elementary and secondary school during a month. During this program children go sightseeing and live in the Italian families. Our project includes invitiry Italian children in our country. We carried exchange programmes since 1999.during the last years the school “Tsiskari” has been systematically arranging different kinds of camping’s at various resorts.
Summer camping – Borjomi, in Luky of 2005 summer camping in Bakuriani. Winter – Christmas camping in Bakuriani.
At school we study different subjects: Georgian, Italian, English, Russian, Maths and different scientists.
In our school there is the national dance club, which participates in different festivals of other countries, also there are: the group of painting, the group of national songs, the chess club, the swimming club, the karate “Do” club and others. There is also a drama club. The head-master of this group was Gogi Gabilaya. He had organized “Pinocchio” in Italian language. They were invited to the festival to Italy and the Italian people were in a state of shock, because this play had an incredible success.
We are the members of the UNESCO and the ISAschools.

It has many strange and beautiful flowers and trees. Some flowers and trees at that come from another country. My favorite zone is cactus’s zone. It has many types of cactus. It’s the most interesting zone.

On my holiday I went to Racha Island with my family. I went there by speedboat. This Island is in the south of Phuket. I went snorkeling and scuba diving with my father. Racha Island is very beautiful with a nice beach with beautiful white sand. The water here is clear and prefect for snorkeling.

The Horticultural Exhibition.

I went to Chiang-Mai for my school trip, I went there because of the horticultural exhibition that opened on November 1, 2006. It opened because we want to celebrate the king’s reign of 60 years, but I went there on November 3, 2006. When I arrived there it was very wide, big and lots of people like ants. There are many kinds of flowers and trees that I have never seen before. I like roses, tulips and cactuses the most because they were beautiful and the cactuses were cute. It made me understand the many different kinds of flowers and trees. It was hot and very tiring because I walked all day, but it was fun. I like the Hall Of Opium very much; it has many interesting points of history and information and the history of opium in Thailand: Number of people who smoke opium, types of pipes and the dangers of smoking opium. This summer, there was a golf competition. It was a big competition in Thailand. It was in Rachaburi at the Dragon Hill Golf Course. The competition’s name was the Majestic Creek Amateur Master. If I won this competition I could have a scholarship. I competed for four days. I was so tired as I walked all day and carried a golf bag but it was a very good experience. I learned how to control my mind and emotions while I’m playing golf.

My good trip to the Royal Flora Festival 2006

I felt so excited when my holiday begun. I was on the bus number 4 and we were traveling to the north of Thailand for the Royal Flora Festival 2006.
When I arrived at the Royal Flora Festival 2006 the first thing that the guide told us was “please be careful. There are lots of people here, you can get lost with your friend.” I know that is true. First me and my friend walked to the tent of glorify the King. This tent is very interesting because they have a cinema showing the activities of His Majesty the King.
It was very exciting when I was in the tent of cold plants, desert plant it has got many plants that I don’t know. I think the Royal Flora Festival is very interesting. If you don’t believe me, come to Chiang-Mai, Thailand, you’ll have a good experience here.

Vegetarian Festival

Here in Phuket, we have many festivals. On October, we have Vegetarian Festival it happens from 22 October to 30 October. Many people in Phuket believe that some Chinese angels came down to the earth to see what was going on in the world. People who want to give respect to the angels have to be a vegetarian during the festival, and have to pray for the vegetarian-promise. They can get some vegetarian foods from the Chinese temple at meal times. We believe that if the guys who can be a vegetarian for 9 days, then they will have good luck. General Information on The Royal Flora Show

Chaing Mai has been selected for The Royal Flora Ratchapruek 2006. The exposition started on the 1st November 2006. Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006 represents Thai people creating one of the world’s most beautiful international plants exposition in order to express the love and respect for their Beloved King. Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006 is organized to present the world plants of over 2,200 species plants and flowers. 2,500,000 plants in total have been planted on the land and ready for the visitor to be proud of them.

My name is Shenae Hodge I live in Victoria Australia and I attend a school called Kurnai College and it is in a small town called Churchill. I am 15 years of age. I have brown hair with bits of blonde in it. I have 2 best friends and their names are Nikki and Kim, they all attend this school as well. We start school at 8:30am and we finish at 2:50pm. At school our main subjects are English, Maths, Science and SOSE everybody in the school has to take part in those classes, we also have course selection which is where we choose more classes that we would like to participate in.
Out school is good at sports, arts, music and other academic subjects.
We do not have any after school clubs to enjoy after school.
Our food in our canteen is a whole heap of different stuff like pies, hotdogs, chicken burgers and we have some lollies and drinks, we also have cakes and cookies.
We are able to leave school at the age of 15.
We do not sing our national anthem every day.
My opinion about school is that it is a great opportunity to learn new things and make new friends, although it gets annoying going to school everyday.

Hello, my name is Mason; I am a 14 year old male. I go to school in a little town called Churchill, the schools name is Kurnai. I live 10 minutes away from the school and I catch a bus every morning.
Our school is very small it only has about 300 students. We have a school uniform of a polo shirt that has to be Moron or white we have to where blue shorts or pants. Our school always competes in sports competitions like football, basketball, soccer, hockey and netball. We start school at 8:30 and finish at 3:30.our school has a couple of clubs the air cadets and the cordial club. In the air cadets you go to the local airport and learn about planes and in cordial club you catch up with work.
We do not have any Thai students at our school but we have a lot of other nationalities. I do not particularly like school, but some subjects I enjoy like PE, English and maths. At our school you can leave at the age of 15 but you won’t have a good enough education to get a good job. That’s me >>

Hello my name is Nikki Hammett and I go to Kurnai College High school in Churchill which is a small town. I am 15 years old and I’m in year nine. Our school starts at 8:30am and goes to 2:50pm which is about 6 hours at school. We have 5 periods a day for work. Our main subjects are maths, English, Sose and Science. These are our subjects that everyone has to do. Our school has about 300 to 350 students. Our school has all year levels from year 7 to year 10. We have to go across the road to go to year 11 and 12.
We leave school at the age of 15, which is our age now. Many students go to university as a far as I know. We do not sing our national anthem everyday. We have one assembly once a month. I have never even thought of changing the school in any way. Our school is not the best school around but I suppose the teachers teach us things that we take in. We have about 25 - 30 teachers that are mostly at our school everyday. Our food is ok at our school canteen. We do have clubs after school hours but I have never gone to any. We have this special program for after school hours which is called cordial club it is for people to come and do their homework and after they have finished they get cordial and biscuits. There are many teachers that help out at the cordial club. We have course selection classes also which include: sport,. Art classes, computer classes and many more. My school is good at soccer and badminton. In our school soccer team, they got to the grand final and they played in the Melbourne stadium for the state finals. In our badminton competition, they came second in the state finals.

Well I didn’t exactly want to go to this school in the first place, because I was going to go to a different one but then mum decided that it would be easier for me to go here because then I wouldn’t have travel as much. Well since I’ve been here at Kurnai I don’t think I’ve thought of changing because I have heaps of friends here.

You can leave at any age, but to properly finish school up to year 12, you’ll be 18.

The majority of our students do continue to University so that they can get different degrees but some people don’t bother to go to University because it’s much more harder and much more work.

No we don’t but when I was in primary school we had to do it every Friday.

History of an institution

HISTORY OF OUR INSTITUTION

After several problems to open the institute it was finally founded on December 29th, 1978 by Leslie Casnodyn Rhys.
In 1979, the first year started with 17 students, with a timetable which went from 6pm to 10.30pm that allowed students who worked to start a career.
In 1982 despite the fact that the institute did not have the support of the state, with the teachers and staff’s effort, the institution continued working and the first group was able to graduate.
In 1991 after a long disease, the teacher and founder of IPPI died. Being this hard for the whole institution, because he was a good and kind man whose faith, honesty and perseverance were models to follow.
After this, his daughter, Lorena E. Rhys, started working as the new headmistress of the institute, with the collaboration of Sara Criado de Muñoz, the secretary and the entire staff being able to continue with the institute.

About Us
Akshay Pratishthan was established in 1988, with the objective of creating voluntary opportunities and providing rehabilitative services for persons with disability. As a organization, Akshay is offering rehabilitative services through integrated education, medical care, vocational training and self - employment. While the school is imparting education to integrated group of equal number of able bodied and physically challenged, from Nursery to Class VIII, the medical care units are rendering full support in providing aids and appliances, yoga and nature cure, therapeutic services and education for children with special needs. We have a team of professionals working in our rehabilitation unit providing therapy and arranging surgery for our school children as well as people from the local community.

The provision of mobility aids, specially designed accessible transport and necessary teaching and learning material has gone a long way in enabling the persons with disability at Akshay.

While there is a barrier-free built environment, the teachers and the care givers are also trained in management of disability.
The vocational training units of weaving, textile designing, embroidery, art and craft, bakery, beauty culture, carpentry, electrical repair, computer and several others are empowering the students by giving requisite training in the school as per interest, aptitude and potential. Every child from Class V to Class VIII is given an opportunity to learn at least one vocation. Most of the courses ar accredited by National Institute of Open Schooling which makes it easier for the children to become self employed or to acquire jobs. Vocational training has helped persons with disabilities to acquire skills that make them self-reliant.

Mrs Aruna Dalmia is the founder-chairperson of Akshay Pratishthan . She has dedicated her life to the cause of disability and mainstreaming of persons with disability. Akshay Pratishthan is her family and her joy is in seeing children’s achievement. Mrs Dalmia is the recipient of several awards including Priyadarshini Award, Manav Sewa Award and Bharat Nirman Award.

Our Principal

Mrs Indira Chaudhry is the principal of the school. She is actively involved in the activities of the children right from the time they enter the school to the time they leave school. Her enthusiasm is infectious and it encourages the teachers to put forth their best. Being a hands-on person, she enjoys teaching the children English.

Education with a Difference

Education is an important aspect of rehabilitation of persons with disability. Catering to the educational needs of the children with special needs has been the major thrust of Akshay Pratishthan. This service is provided through integrated and inclusive education at school where nearly 400 students - able-bodied and differently-abled study together in equal number from nursery to class VIII. The school caters for the underprivileged sections of society.

The school provides students the requisite opportunities for all around development - cognitive, social, personality, emotional and physical. Opportunities for self-expression are provided through intra and inter school competitions like music, sports, banner writing, and arts and crafts. Skill training for self reliance also forms an important part of the curriculum.

After class VIII, students have the option of either joining regular school or appearing for the X and XII class examinations through the National Institute of Open Schooling of which Akshay Pratishthan is a specially accredited Centre. Special Education

Akshay Pratishthan runs a special wing for slow learners, children with cerebral palsy and mild and moderate intellectually challenged children. The academics are conducted by special educators and rehabilitation professionals. These children are socially integrated through sports and cultural activities. This integration generates confidence and mutual acceptance amongst the children. Parents are also counseled from time to time.

Medical Facilities

At Akshay Pratishthan, the medical team works closely with the therapeutic departments to ensure successful integrations and inclusions. All students with disabilities are given special medical attention under competent professionals. Regular medical checkups and diagnostics are performed to monitor progress of the children. Corrective surgeries are organized at different hospitals. Mobility aids are provided to the children and to others in the community. Prosthetic and Orthotic appliances are assembled by qualified and experienced Prosthetic Engineers.

Mrs Anuradha Sethi has been associated with this school from 1992 and has over 14 years of teaching experience in inclusive education. She is a teacher of English for middle school. She is actively involved in computer-based projects and actively participating in the “Digital Equalizer” Program of AIF. Her motto is to leave no stone unturned for the children of Akshay Pratishthan School.

Mrs Rajalakshmi Bhaskar has been a teacher volunteer with Akshay Pratishthan School for the past 3 years. A trained teacher of English , she is making efforts to improve the language abilities of the students, since English is being taught in the school as a second language. Also involved in computer- based projects.
Working with the children of the school has given her tremendous satisfaction and has encouraged her to do more for the children.

I am Amit Dey, a student of Akshay Pratisthtan School. It is situated in Vasant Kunj in New Delhi. My school building is grand. There are eleven class rooms in it for 432 students. There are other rooms: library, staff room, office, music room, hall etc. There are forty staff members. Our teachers are very good. They teach us with love and care. My school is famous for its good discipline and annual examination result. The sports activities in our school are also great. We play football, cricket, basketball etc. All the children play during the break time in the playground. We have four houses, Satapura, Nilgiri, Vindhyachal and Himalaya. The children are equally distributed into these four houses. We also have lot of cultural activities like dancing, dramatics and music. All the children participate in these activities. We have a splendid school clinic. We have all the necessary medicines and we are treated really well when we get hurt or we are sick. We have exercise facilities for disabled (handicapped) children. This is an effort to make them feel equal to every one.

Zarina : My School, Your School is a wonderful
project for me because I just this year
came to Florida from Ghana. I found a
beautiful campus with friendly people who
celebrate diversity. I am in fifth grade,
and my forty-five classmates are divided
among three homerooms. I love the small
classes - - - fifteen per room.

Samantha : I’m in the fifth grade too, and my mother
teaches kindergarten at our school. I also
have a brother in third grade. Our school
is in a rural area with sixty acres of land.
The great part about that is that the campus
adjoins a protected wetlands. That means
our only neighbors will always be nature’s own.

Olivia: I am in first grade, and I have a sister in the
pre-kindergarten four-year-old class. We even
have classes for three-year-olds. In our building
the oldest classes are fifth graders, and for
this project seven of them have partners from
my class.

Ashley: Girls in my fifth grade class outnumber the
boys two to one, but in the fourth grade it is just
the opposite. We wear uniforms - - navy shorts or
slacks with red polo shirts on Monday, Wednesday
or Friday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we wear
our dress uniforms because we have Chapel.

Hannah: Next year, when I’m in sixth grade, I move
to another part of the campus for Middle School.
We change classes this year for science and
math, but in Middle School there are six blocks
of time and several different buildings. Our
school year runs from mid-August through mid-
May, and we divide it into four quarters with grade
reports at the end of each.

Bailey H: I’m in fifth grade, and my sister Connor, who is
in first grade, is on the My School, Your School
team too. We do projects like this one in our
enrichment classes where two different grade
levels form partnerships. Our school is college
preparatory, and altogether there are about
700 students.

Bailey L: In first grade my class has time after lunch to
play on the playground. We have swings, climbing
and swinging bars, beams and ball fields. We have
a covered patio, so we can even play outside when
it rains. It never snows where we live.

Sydney: My fifth grade class just had a field trip to
Kennedy Space Center, which is a two hour bus
ride from our school. All classes take field
trips during the year, and we also have times
when we celebrate off campus, such as the
pool party for students who complete their
summer reading.

Hannah: I’m in first grade, and we are looking forward
to a week off for Spring Break the week after
next. It is beautiful weather here this time of
year, and outside we can smell the orange blossoms.
In the summer it gets very hot, so most of the
tourists come to Florida in the winter.

Samantha: School at All Saints’ Academy is always interesting
In my fifth grade class there are students from
Winter Haven, which is the closest city, but also from
Lakeland, Lake Wales, Bartow, and Auburndale. Buses
go to all of those places to pick up students, but most
people come by car. Some of us stay after school for
clubs, like technology, chess, Mad Science, or dance.

Ms. Stewart: This is an amazing group of eleven young ladies, and
they are working hard to put together a book about
their school. We also look forward to reading books
from other schools and learning about their lives.

Jirawat Kuramakanok. My School
Here is my school’s name ChalemprakiatsomdetprasrinakarinPhuket School. In Thailand we have many special days such as The King’s birthday celebration and the Queen’s Birthday celebration. In My school have a special uniform. This special uniform we will use for special days. We have another uniform wee call it a Semi-Uniform. This uniform we use every Monday. I think that both of them are good. They make us look smart when we wear them. In addition, this uniform is useful for giving respect to The King and The Royal family.

Akkarachai Sae-Lee. my school
There are many kinds of sports in my school; western sports such as baseball and basketball. For me I like Thai sports, such as Ta-kraw. In the old days Ta-kraw was played in Myanmar. Thailand and Myanmar sometimes are friend; sometimes they are enemies; that’s why Ta-kraw came to Thailand. There are two teams in Ta-kraw. Each team has three people. They must kick the Ta-kraw ball across the net. It’s easy to play Ta-kraw because the players don’t run much; only a few players play; and you need only one referee. It can use the same field as basketball field. When I was a little boy I followed my father to watchhim playing Ta-kraw. So I like Ta-kraw; the most im portent reason is that Ta-kraw is cheap and easily to buy it and play.

Pasakorn Udomniyom. My school
“GO” is the name given to a board game that looks like chess. It came from China about 3500 year ago. Now “GO” is very well known in Thailand. On Sunday 13th August 2006, I went to Wuhan in China. I visited schools, universities and a shopping centre. I am a young “GO” ambassador, because of this, I have to help to make good relationships with other countries through “GO” competitions, in what we call “Go tournament for Chinese around the world.” I’m very proud of myself, because I can make my school very well known because of this activity. I won some games and the person that I beat is not a beginner but, he is the first dan.

Phusin Temmas. My school

In my school there a lot of mangroveforests. It very beautiful. I think it’s beautiful because it has different kinds of plants and animals. For example, crabs , fish , insect ,bird and monkey. We have the way to walk in the mangrove forest. In free we can go to mangrove forest. We have an environment club. We study about protecting the mangrove forest. My school has a different study program. It’s MLP. (Multi Language Program). This program teaches by use of 3 important languages. There are English, Chinese and Thai. English and Chinese languages are taught by teachers from another country and Thai is taught by Thai teachers. They teach very well. We love them. The MLP. has many activities for example, MLP. relationship etc.

“First project of my life” I managed it on last year when I was M.3. I had a project called “Relationship between Junior & Senior” I was project manager of this project. First I met with all staff and all teachers, the topic was “What can we do to make activities fun and contain benefit” We got more ideas from everybody. We began to write a proposal to send to the school director. We changed it many times; at last director signed her name to approve it.
We had it at boat lagoon resort. We had many games for everybody for example Balloon battle, Matrix and singing. When this day is finished all staffs were very impressed.

My school’s name is ChalermpragiedsomdejPrasrinagarin Phuket school. This name is the name of Princess Mother of Thailand. The Department of Elementary Education established Chalermpragiedsomdej Prasrinagarin school in memory of divining grace of Princess Mother. It has 12 schools in Thailand. I want to tell you about the Princess Mother.
In Thailand the Princess Mother was affectionatelyCalled Somdej Ya. Her formal name and title were Somdej Prasrinakarindra Boromarajajonani. Somdej Ya was born on the 21 October 1900 in thon buri as a commoner. Her given name was Sangwal. By the time she became nine years old , her parents had already died. However before that, she was entered into the service of Princess Valaya Alongkorn. In 1920, Somdej Ya married with Mahidol Adulyadej, Prince of Songkhla, son of king Chulalongkorn. They had three children :
- Galyani Vadhana (born in 1923)
- Ananda Mahidol (born in 1925, later became King, Rama VII)
- Bhumibol Adulyadej (born in 1927, later became King, Rama IX)
Somdej Ya was actively involved with numerous charitable activities . She gave donation to help build school in remote areas. She also set up the Princess Mother's Fund to help support various charitable activities. She passed away on July 18 1995, at the age of 94.

My school is called “Chalermprakiat Somdetprasrinakarin Phuket”. It’s located in Phuket town, Phuket, Thailand. There are two dormitories in my school, one is the male-dormitory and other is the female-dormitory. However, all students in my school don’t have to board, they can choose what they want. In addition, most of boarding students live very far from the school such as in another city or another province. It makes students get more “closer” to the school, creates a strong relationship between students and the school. Thus, it will be very easy for my development and character. …..Relationship between junior and senior Camp…..
This activity is about to tighten the relationship between junior students and senior students in the Multi Language Program. This year the camp was created by the senior students and of course I was the one who organized the camp too. The camp was on the 22nd July 2006 and the 23rd July 2006. The camp was great, the junior students enjoyed all the activities that we organized. Some activities made them laugh and some activities made them cry because of they had been touched. We believe that after the camp the students would be proud and this camp would be a good experience for every student.

Ahreum Kang. My school
In my school we have sports day on August 1st- 2nd for 3 days. Before sports day we have to practice cheering. On the first day, we have to cheer half a day at school. Second day, we have to cheer all day at school. Third day, we have to cheer at the gym (outside school).
On sports day we have to separate into each color. They have 5 colors: green, blue, pink. purple and yellow. Each color has it’s own Parade to walk from school to the stadium. They have to dress-up for this Parade.
Our school has many sports to choose on sports day such as badminton, valley ball, football, GO, batong and basketball, etc. Basketball is the most popular in my school. So, most of my friends play basketball and they play very well, I think.
I had to cheer my color(green) I was very tired but it was fun when we cheered sportsman they will power-up to play sports and what about your school, Do they have a sports day and what sports do they have.

I study many subjects in my school for example maths, physics, biology, chemistry, geography, English, computer studies and health. My favourite subject is physics, because physics can be applied in daily life. Some teachers come from the University to teaches. In my school we have a biology room, a physics room, chemistry room and in each room there is lots of equipment. In the biology room we have a telescope. In the chemistry room we have many chemical elements. In the physic room we have many theories about physics. I study 8 hours per day and I have 2 hours for sport time. I like to play foot ball in my free time. I’m happy when I’m learning new things.

Kraisit Phakwiwat. My School
My school has a mangrove forest around us, thus we have an Environment Club which has activities on how to solve the problem about the environment. If you like sport we have Table Tennis Club, Go Club (a board game), and we have Computer Club too. My friends tell me this club teaches you how to use computer and the internet. For people who love music we have Thai Music Club and Band Club for public, but they are very loud.

OUR SECURITY GUARD
At Madania we have some security guards. There are about 12 security guards. We met and interviewed MR. Iskandar, one of the security guards. He said he prepares: a complete uniform, handcuffs, a police stick, and a whistle. The security guard wears black and white colored shirts and blue and black pants. They also help arranging the parking system dropping and picking the children. MR. Iskandar said that he and his group guard from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. So they guard until the night time. They don’t use any guns because they are not allowed to use them. Why do we need guards? So we can get protections and safety environment.

LEARNING SUPPORT DEPARTMENT
It’s for children whose development has been delayed for many reasons to have intense individual instruction (means 1 teacher to 1 student).
The kinds of the teachers are university graduates who are specialized in child development and education. There are thirty one aide teachers that support the special needs student. So, the main teachers only help the special needs student in LSD, but the aide teachers always support the special needs student everywhere. LSD handles 53 special students. They are from year 1 to year 9. LSD handles special needs student. What kind of special student they are? They are: Dyslexic, ADA-attention deficit disorder, ADHD-attention deficit hyperactive disorder, Asbergs, autistic, and language delayed or developmentally delayed. That’s all about LSD!

Our school facilities

OUR SCHOOL CANTEEN

In our canteen school, there are eight workers. And there are 13 tables and 26 chairs. All the food in our school canteen is healthy.
The students mostly have to eat healthy food. Everyday the student’s buy porridge, pizza, rice, and chicken strips. They drink juice. There are five kinds of juice: orange, melon, strawberry, and guava. We eat snack at 9.20 am, and we eat lunch at 11.30 am.
This canteen is only for grade 1 – 3. When we eat we can‘t speak too much and can’t throw the food, and we must finish the food.

Hi friends We want to tell about our stock room. In this school there is a stock room because the stock room is a place to order things for teachers to support their teachings. Nurse station is a room for giving to help student in accident.
Many kinds of medicine in there, like panadol for headaches, syrup, betadine for skin scratches, oil, and many more. If we are sick we have to take a rest and drink some medicine. We must be quiet in the nurse station because nurse station is a place for rest.
The worse thing that has been happen to the child is a broken arm. The disease that can easily recover is influenza.

OUR CLASSROOM
Friends, now we want to tell about classes in Madania School. In Classes there are 24 students. They are from Indonesia but in our class there is one student from Australia. Usually one class has 24 books in class as a mini library. There are two teachers in each class. One teaches in English for math, social, and science and the other teaches in Indonesian language for Indonesian language and Moral Values. The school has a special room for computers. The rule is no food, no drink, and no games, and use in-door voice. The class is 8m x 8m. There are about 46 resource books. There are display boards because people can see our work in special places.

Hi! We want to tell you about our school library. In the library we have 10000 books. In the library we have 20 shelves and 2 teachers. The children can borrow one fiction, or non fiction book, and easy reading. We can read and borrow resources and a lot of news we can get. Every school needs a library because library is a center of information. In our library children like to borrow fiction or non fiction. The library has 12 rules. At our school we have 3 libraries. MPH and KOPERASI
MPH means Multi Purpose Hall. MPH is for sport and performances.
There are 3 (three) sport teachers for grade 1 (one)-3 (three). There are so many kinds of sports we do at MPH. Example: Soccer, basketball, handball, and many more. Besides that, we can do performance, assembly, seminar, flag ceremony, bazaar, and many more. Assembly is something that we perform in front of our friends and teachers. Example: Dancing, singing, drama, and others.
We also have “OPEN HOUSE” every year at MPH.

We also have the place that called “KOPERASI” at our school. “KOPERASI” is a small market at our school. Our school’s KOPERASI sells food, snacks, and drinks. We have an idea to have KOPERASI because there are many teachers and students who want to buy some snacks besides they usually buy at the canteen. The snacks and foods become the favorite, the most is yoghurt.

OUR COMPUTER AND AV ROOM
In AV room students watch movies like scientific film, comedies, cartoon and many more. In Madania we have 4 AV rooms.
Besides that, the function of the AV room is to help the child and some times AV room is use for meeting of teachers.
In the building A the AV room only is used by the grade one and two.
We have 25 computers in the computer room. In here the teacher teaches in the computer room because students must learn how to operate computers for daily activities like typing, drawing, and many more.

Our school is a large high school with approximately 3000 people in it. It is a 2 story high school, with mulitple sports fields. We have 6 to 7 classes a day, with 57 minute "periods". Our school is relatively new, and has a large library and cafeteria. We each have our own lockers, and there are 4 large parking lots for students and faculty to park in. Thats the description of my school.

The name of my school is called Caeser Rodney High School. My first year here was not the best because they were remodeling the school. Most of my classes were in old rooms with no AC. But now its my final year here and I think this is the nicest school I have even been to. And trust me my father is military so I have been to a lot of schools. It almost looks like it just got built. We have really nice computers the classrooms have AC so its easier to sit and listen to the teacher on a hot day even if it is the day before spring break. And i forgot to mention the Cafateria. It seriously looks like McDonalds but cleaner. The down side is that the school they spent 32 million dollars to remodel only holds a maximum of 2000 students and we have around 1936 students so we are pushing it. And at the beginning of the year we had way too many student in my Survey class. Students were sitting on the floor but we got that all straightened out.And finally to leave on a good note the teachers are good, well most of them are a few of them are questionable.

I'm Shannon from Caesar Rodney Highschool. I'm currently a junior and i will be a senior next year. It seems like time flies by so fast and its unbelievable that i will be graduating next year. School is sometimes dreadful to come to if im not prepared but its mostly decent. We have 6 classes through out the day. 4 of them are your basics, english, math, history, and science. Plus we have foreign language classes and electives which are special classes of subjects we are usually interested in. During the fall when school begins the only really fun activity is the friday night football games. Besides sports there are tons of after school clubs that people join. Our school day starts around 8am and ends at 3pm. In between we have a 30min lunch break in which we spend usually just being with friends and talking. The one thing i've realized about our highschool is that we are all very different but in a way we form a famiy that most of the time work together.Most of the school has alot of school spirit and pride in our school.

Zarina : My School, Your School is a wonderful
project for me because I just this year
came to Florida from Ghana. I found a
beautiful campus with friendly people who
celebrate diversity. I am in fifth grade,
and my forty-five classmates are divided
among three homerooms. I love the small
classes - - - fifteen per room.

Samantha : I’m in the fifth grade too, and my mother
teaches kindergarten at our school. I also
have a brother in third grade. Our school
is in a rural area with sixty acres of land.
The great part about that is that the campus
adjoins a protected wetlands. That means
our only neighbors will always be nature’s own.

Olivia: I am in first grade, and I have a sister in the
pre-kindergarten four-year-old class. We even
have classes for three-year-olds. In our building
the oldest classes are fifth graders, and for
this project seven of them have partners from
my class.

Ashley: Girls in my fifth grade class outnumber the
boys two to one, but in the fourth grade it is just
the opposite. We wear uniforms - - navy shorts or
slacks with red polo shirts on Monday, Wednesday
or Friday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we wear
our dress uniforms because we have Chapel.

Hannah: Next year, when I’m in sixth grade, I move
to another part of the campus for Middle School.
We change classes this year for science and
math, but in Middle School there are six blocks
of time and several different buildings. Our
school year runs from mid-August through mid-
May, and we divide it into four quarters with grade
reports at the end of each.

Bailey H: I’m in fifth grade, and my sister Connor, who is
in first grade, is on the My School, Your School
team too. We do projects like this one in our
enrichment classes where two different grade
levels form partnerships. Our school is college
preparatory, and altogether there are about
700 students.

Bailey L: In first grade my class has time after lunch to
play on the playground. We have swings, climbing
and swinging bars, beams and ball fields. We have
a covered patio, so we can even play outside when
it rains. It never snows where we live.

Sydney: My fifth grade class just had a field trip to
Kennedy Space Center, which is a two hour bus
ride from our school. All classes take field
trips during the year, and we also have times
when we celebrate off campus, such as the
pool party for students who complete their
summer reading.

Hannah: I’m in first grade, and we are looking forward
to a week off for Spring Break the week after
next. It is beautiful weather here this time of
year, and outside we can smell the orange blossoms.
In the summer it gets very hot, so most of the
tourists come to Florida in the winter.

Samantha: School at All Saints’ Academy is always interesting
In my fifth grade class there are students from
Winter Haven, which is the closest city, but also from
Lakeland, Lake Wales, Bartow, and Auburndale. Buses
go to all of those places to pick up students, but most
people come by car. Some of us stay after school for
clubs, like technology, chess, Mad Science, or dance.

Ms. Stewart: This is an amazing group of eleven young ladies, and
they are working hard to put together a book about
their school. We also look forward to reading books
from other schools and learning about their lives.
